Bungay Christmas Fair 2014 (Sunday 7th December)

Forget Black Friday, it’s all about this Sunday as once again it’s time for the Bungay Christmas Fair

Bungay Christmas Fair 2014 (Sunday 7th December)

Christmas shopping is generally associated with trudging about, stress and having to wade through crowds of people desperate to either get their hands on a bargain or spending a disproportionate amount of time discussing minute details of specific gifts for specific people. However as anyone who has been to the Bungay Christmas Fair will tell you this does not necessarily have to be the case!

As with a number of Christmas fairs and markets there are a number of stalls offering a range of things to buy. Increasingly more people are looking at more traditional decorations and gifts and the best places to get them from are the independent retailers and craftspeople who dedicate themselves to making something with a bit of extra quality that will last for years to come, long after the latest toy crazes have come and gone!

But the Bungay Christmas Fair is about more than just the shopping- there is also great atmosphere courtesy of the South Norfolk Youth Symphonic Band, making the experience feel a lot more pleasurable than the usual chase around the shops. Indeed for a lot of people it is worth hanging around to hear the music even if they are the lucky few who have got all their shopping done and have time to relax!

As well as places to buy gifts there are also a range of stalls serving fresh food, a diverse range of delicacies to suit a range of tastes. Equally it is a great opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and try something a little different (who knows you might find a new favourite cuisine?)

Naturally of course the event is also geared to children as well. And what Christmas fair would be complete without a visit from the man himself? Children can visit Father Christmas in person at his grotto in the Fisher Theatre, providing a little extra bit of magic to an already special occasion.

The event starts at 9am so there is plenty of time to enjoy the day and explore everything that Bungay has to offer. Whether you live in our fine town or fancy exploring somewhere a little different away from the hustle and bustle of the city the Bungay Christmas Fair can offer something that could make your Christmas a little less stressful and a little more special.
