Bungay’s Famous King’s Head Hotel Sells For Nearly £350,000

Hotel and leisure specialists Fleurets have bought Bungay’s iconic King’s Head Hotel for £349,500.

The King’s Head Hotel has been owned by the same family for over 20 years, but the owners recently decided to sell the property because the tenant was prepared to give vacant possession. The Bungay hotel used to be a coaching inn and has 13 en-suite letting bedrooms, two function rooms (licensed for 75 and 100 people, respectively), a residents’ lounge, restaurant, lounge bar and sizeable car park.

The Bungay hotel is a regular meeting place for the Waveney Harriers, who meet there with horses and hounds for the town’s Boxing Day Hunt, and dates from the 16th Century before being burnt down by the town’s great fire in 1688 and then rebuilt.
