Scole Mother of Two Runs 10 Marathons in 10 Weeks to Raise Money for A Chernobyl Children’s Charity

Anne Beckett-Allen, 41, the director of Rosedale Funeral Home in Attleborough, has been raising money for the Diss Friends of Chernobyl Children’s Charity as part of the Home’s 10th anniversary fund-raising goal.

Aiming to raise £10,000 in collaboration with the Home’s 10-hour coffee morning, dog show, and quiz night, Mrs. Beckett-Allen has so far raised over £9,000 and aims to donate the rest of the funds to local causes. She has had to run a half-marathon once a week and, though it has been gruelling and challenging, has so far not encountered too many hiccups.

For the past eight years, Mrs Beckett-Allen and husband Simon have hosted children living with the effects of the tragic Chernobyl nuclear disaster, which she has described as “incredibly rewarding”. If you would like to donate, you can visit Ms. Beckett-Allen’s Justgiving page.
