The Fisher Theatre plays host to As You Like It by William Shakespeare this summer.
On the midsummer nights of the 6th to the 9th of July Shakespeares Globe Theatre will present the classic play.
‘As You Like It’ follows its heroine Rosalind as she flees persecution in her uncle’s court, accompanied by her cousin Celia and Touchstone the court jester, to find safety and eventually love in the Forest of Arden.
This summer will provide a great opportunity to get a taste of the famous Shakespeare production, whether a new comer or lover of Englands most famous Playwright.
As well as this, the Fisher Theatre is putting on a whole range of shows. The Bungay Theatre Groups ‘Prepare to meet thy tomb’, promises murder, mayhem, secret passages and plenty of laughs!
Its not only theatre though. There’s plenty of music to get involved with, from Jazz nights to Salsa lessons, there is something for everyone.
Famous Guitarist Juan Martin will also be at the Fisher Theatre, Bungay, in April. The Flamenco guitarist has recorded with Herbie Hancock and played with legend Miles Davis. His track ‘Love theme from The Thorn Birds’ broke into the top ten in 1984.
There is certainly a lot to choose from, and just one of the reasons to visit Bungay this spring and summer.
The theatre is always an interesting place to go. If you haven’t been, take a visit and you’ll find out whether its “to be or not to be”.
